1、Unit 6When was it invented?第四課時Section B (1a1e) salty形容詞,意為“咸的;含鹽的”,是由名詞salt加上y構(gòu)成的,類似的形容詞還有tasty,smelly,sunny,cloudy等。 Potato chips were invented by mistake.薯條是被無意中發(fā)明的。by mistake意為“錯誤地;無意地”。在此短語中mistake要用單數(shù)形式,且前面不能用冠詞。【拓展】make a mistake犯錯誤mistake.for.把錯認(rèn)為 The customer was happy in the end.最后顧客滿意了。in
2、 the end意為“最后,最終”,相當(dāng)于at last/finally。eg:They were out of danger in the end.最后他們脫險了?!就卣埂縤n the end不能與of連用,可放在句首,也可放在句末。at the end of.后接地點名詞,表示“在的盡頭”;后接時間名詞,表示“在結(jié)束時”。eg:at the end of the road/month在這條路/這個月的盡頭by the end of意為“在以前,到為止”,常與將來時態(tài)或過去完成時態(tài)連用。eg:By the end of last month,we had learnt over ten En
