convenient意為“方便的”,常用于it is convenient (for sb)to do…或sth is convenient to sb結(jié)構(gòu)。 in no time馬上,立刻;at one time一度,曾經(jīng);at the same time同時;on time準(zhǔn)時。

get along 進(jìn)展,相處;get on 上車,進(jìn)展,相處;get to到達(dá);get around(消息)傳開,傳出去。 worthy的習(xí)慣用法是worthy of being done和worthy to be done。 carry out the plan意為“執(zhí)行這項計劃”。set aside意為“把……置于一旁”;take in意為“

providing/provided that假如。 第二段的“… to give squirrels a way to cross th

、e busy road without getting flattened by passing cars.” 由第四段“and that day's coffee break discussion turned into squirrel safety. The group of businessmen cooked up the squirrel bridge idea and formed a committee to ask the blessing of

、 the City Council.” 根據(jù)本句的“Squirrels were even seen guiding their young”看出,是教小松鼠如何使用這個橋。故選D。 19. 倒數(shù)第二段的“Repairs were made and crosspieces were replaced”看出數(shù)年之后,這座橋得到了重修。故選C。 20. Peters died in 1984, and a ten-foot wooden squirrel sculpture w
