、cal evidence allows us to calculate the size and volume of the lake, which appears to have formed about 3.4 billion years ago.” Analysis of the images has shown the water carved out the canyon(溪谷) in which it was found, which then opened out into a valley depositing(使淤積) sediment(沉積物) which formed

、a delta(三角洲). “Finding shorelines is a great discovery to us”, said assistant professor Brian Hynek, adding it showed the lake existed at a time when Mars was thought to have been cold and dry. Scientists believe the oldest surfaces on Mars formed during the wet and warm era known as the Noachan e

They describe in the Royal Society journal,Proceedings B,how this could assist in the future study of empathy(同感,共鳴).The work could also help explain if and how computer games might cause

、children to imitate what they see on screen. Previous studies have already shown contagious yawning in chimpanzees—stimulated by video-recorded footage of yawns. “We wanted to expand on that,” explained Matthew Campbell,a researcher from Emory University's Yerkes National Primate Research Center a

、nd lead author of the study.“We're interested in using cartoons for presenting stimuli to animals, because we can control all the features of what we show them,” he continued. Although Dr Campbell doesn't think the chimps were “fooled” by the cartoons into thinking they were looking at real chimps,

、 he explained that there was evidence that chimpanzees “process animated(動(dòng)畫的) faces the same way they process photographs of faces”. He said, “It's not a real chimpanzee, but it kind of looks like a chimpanzee, and they're responding to that.” He and his team, including Devyn Carter who designed th

、d done was correct. I have learned from this experience that a knowledge of first aid can make a really difference.

be curious about對(duì)…… 6.A 分析句子結(jié)構(gòu)可知,and前后連接的是兩個(gè)接連發(fā)生的動(dòng)作(“said

in disguise 假裝; at risk 冒險(xiǎn); in relief 欣慰地。 regardless of不管。 turn out結(jié)果是。turn up出現(xiàn);turn down 關(guān)小,拒絕;turn around 轉(zhuǎn)身。 put away 收起來; put off 拖延; put down 放下,鎮(zhèn)壓。 in case 以防,萬

、一。by nature 天生地;in return 作為回報(bào);by chance 碰巧。 be likely to do sth 很可能會(huì)做某事。 at ease(舒適、快活、自由自在)和lose face(丟臉)都是固定搭配,名詞前均不加冠詞。 I think

、 so. I'm not surprised. Of course.當(dāng)然。Not likely!(大概)不會(huì)! 根據(jù)第六段中…it showed the lake existed at a time when Mars was thought to have been cold and dry.

Ⅲ.One day Tom and I were walking down the street whilewhen we saw an old man fall off his bike. He was badly hurt. Many people crowded around ushim. Someone suggested carrying the old man to the roadside, sobut Tom disagreed.

、 He hashad learned first aid. He said that they ought to leave him where he was and checkedcheck him first. At that time the old man wasn't breathing. Tom asked me to call in the First Aid Center at once and he began to start the old man's breathing, useusing the mouth-to-mouth way. Within five minutes, the old man began to move ∧a little and doctors also arrived. They said thatwhat we had done was correct. I have learned from this experience that a knowledge of first aid can make a reallyreal difference.
