Hardship can be inverted to success and happiness if the owner deal with them optimistically and correctly. Taking all the circumstances into consideration, we Chinese must be proud of ourselves. We’ve conquered most of the difficulties and grasped every opportunity to make our country advanced. Looking back to the old days, it was definitely a hard experience to our Chinese nation. Luckily, under the leadership of our party and with the hard work of our people ,we at last won the People’s Liberation War, driving the cruel invaders out of our land. After that, a newly-born country -----China stood up, shining like a bright star in the East. We learn from this that “United, we stand,” which is of great significance to our modernization. Since the opening-up and reform policy was put into action, great changes had taken place in this stricken land. However, modernization can’t be acplished in one generation. It needs a long-lasting struggle through several generations. With the development of industry and agriculture, the GDP increases at a high rate from year to year. As is known to all, economy is the basis of every other establishment of a country, so making every effort to develop our economy has bee the foremost thing to do. Based on all these factors, our state council and our party have taken measures to stimulate our economy. Fortunately every step taken has been proved right and remarkable achievements have been got. A heavy burden has been taken off from the government so that it can take more effective measures to improve people’s living standards. Now residents all enjoy a better life standard thanks to living and working in peace and contentment. China referred itself as a member of “the Third World” from the beginning .Talking of foreign affairs, attentions must be focused on Taiwan problem and Korean nuclear issue. As the proper handling of the Taiwan question was crucial to the steady growth of the Sino-us ties, our government stressed that China hoped that the US side abide by its mitments. We added we hoped the US would adhere to the one-China policy and the three joint muniqus oppose “the independence of Taiwan” and avoid sending out any erroneous signals to “Taiwan-independence forces” or doing anything that is detrimental to peace and stability across the Taiwan Strait. And we also noted, a peaceful resolution of the Korean nuclear issue was in the interests of all parties concerned. Development is grown out of science and technology while science and technology call for intelligent and qualified person. As a result, education is playing a more and more important role because it’s education that brings person of ability to our society. We’ve changed our concept of education since we realize its importance and necessity. Education is not only the teaching and learning of knowledge but also the transmitting of moral standards and the development of a person’s character. When Liberal Education is spreading across the world, we hold out strong examples and take actions to support this concept. Recently it absolutely has shown a sign of prosperity and strength to the world the time we finish our first manned flight to space. In a word, China also has a splendid culture. Last year, Beijing won the bid to host the xx Olympic games and this year Shanghai to hold the xx World Exposition. Our motto for the xx Olympic Games is “New Beijing, Great Olympics.” Now that China is enjoying fast economic growth, we want to host these events not only to boost the World Activities, but also to further increase the understanding between the Chinese people and people all over the world and to strengthen the cooperative exchange between China and other countries. Our Chinese government will certainly honor our mitment and we will by all means try our best to make the two activities the most memorable ones. As a Chinese, I consider it an honor to be a member among the descendants of the Yan Huang Emperor. Our Chinese people is historically peace-loving and hospitable. Especially after experiencing a great reform both economically and politically, we’re now more generous and opening. We wele all the peace-loving people and advanced technologies to e to our country and we’ll make contributions to the man-kind together. Some day in the future the huge dragon in the east will surely rise in the world and our great China will stride forward to a thorough modernization. God blessed our China, blessed our munist Party and our hard-working people. I’ll offer you my undying gratitude.
