To grasp the language points. 2. To get the key information by listening Teaching methods: Listening, speaking and co-operative approach Teaching procedures: Step 1 Revision Revise the problems ss have and how to solve them. Step2.Presentation 1.Learn some new words and expressions chemistry laugh at bookworm 2. Present Nora to the students. Ask the students to read through the Nora’s profile on P43.Write the following on the board: Name: Class: Grade: Subject I like: Subject I don’t like: 3. Write the answers to these questions. Then ask the students to write a short profile about themselves. Step3.Reading practice 1. Read the profile aloud. 2. Try to plete the notes. Step4.Listening practice 1. Play the tape for the students, listen and try to catch the important information to plete the note. 2. Listen again and try to fill in the gaps themselves. 3. Play the tape once more and try to plete the note. 4. Ask the students to read out the answers one by one. Step5. Practice 1. Ask the students to plete the report. 2. Check the answers in groups. 3. Read the report aloud. Step 6 Speak up 1. Everybody has problems that worry them. Daniel is very worried these days because his English isn’t very good. He’s asking Millie for advice now. Listen to the conversation and learn some new words. 2. Read the conversation and answer the questions. 1) What is Daniel’s problem? He has made little progress in his English. 2) What advice does Millie give Daniel? Daniel should go over what he has learnt as often as possible. He should read English aloud every morning and try to pronounce all the words correctly. 3) Why does Millie ask Daniel to pronounce all the words correctly? Because learning the correct pronunciation will help him remember words. 4) Do you think Daniel feels better after discussing his problem with Mille? Yes. 3. Learn the useful expressions: 1)I have made little progress in my English. 2)Perhaps you should go over what you have learnt as often as possible. 3)Try to pronounce all the words correctly. Step7. Production Ask the students to share their problems with their partners and give advice to each other. Step8.Homework Ask the students to collect the sentences on how to talk about problems and how to give advice. 二次備課 For the students in Class 2, it’s too difficult to write a short profile. Maybe we should show the students a sample first. Students may need some help when they are sharing their problems with their partners. 教學(xué)反思 The listening part is a little difficult for the students in Class2. Students need to listen twice.
