Module 2 Education Unit 1 They don’t sit in rows. ◆ 教材分析 本模塊以“Education”為話題,以學習談論各國的教育為主線,介紹了各國的學校教育情況。通過模塊學習,學生將重點掌握代詞,介詞和介詞短語的用法,并能在寫作過程中運用這些詞或詞組。 ◆ 教學目標 【知識目標】 1. Key vocabulary. 2. Keys structure: Sentence structure. 【能力目標】 1. Talk about schools in England. 2. Write about English schools 【情感目標】 1. Read articles about English schools. 2. Listen to people talking about education. ◆ 教學重難點 ◆ 【教學重點】 1. To learn and review some words and expressions about education. 2. To learn some expressions about pronouns. 【教學難點】 Learn to use the pronouns correctly. ◆ 課前準備 ◆ 1.課前準備:調試光盤與課件、給學生分組、為學生布置預習作業(yè)等; 2.教具學具:光盤、大卡片等。 ◆ 教學過程 Step1. Words 1.Teach the new words and phrases in the lesson with the Chinese explanation and exact pronunciation. 2.Show the Chinese meanings to let student answer English correspondents. 3.Encourage students to make up English sentences with the new learned words. Step2. Talking 1.Get students to talk about the activities they take at school. 2.Show pictures about school life and let students introduce the school routine in English. 3.Get students to discuss the subjects taken at your school. What subjects do students have? Do they like these subjects or not? 4.Divide the whole class into two group. One group like the school activities and the other doesn’t like them. Encourage students to clarify the reasons. 5. Students make a free talk. What time does your school start? Do you think this is too early or too late? When do you finish school? Do you think this is too early or too late? How long is the lunchtime at your school? Do you like your school uniform? Why or why not? How often do you go on school trips? Do you think your school is a good one? Why or why not? 6.Let students speak out their attitudes towards school life. What do you think of your school life? What do you like best about school? Have you ever experienced anything interesting or unforgettable during your school life? Step3. Learning 1.Let students search for information to compare school lives in China and in western countries. After students’ description of the difference, get students to read the texts in the book for the completion. 3. Read the passage and answer the questions in the slides. 4. Read again and complete the timetable. 5. Read the passage carefully and put the statements into the correct group. 6. Read the passage carefully again and decide if these sentences show facts (F) or opinions (O). 7. Complete the questions with the words in the box. Step4. Writing 1.Teach students the way they write a composition with three main points. Write about what you know best. Use something you have read as a model. Use ideas and sentences from the model and change the details. 2.Demonstrate the sample texts so that students can absorb the advantages in others’ compositions. Step5. Language points 1. pass在這里做動詞,意思是“及格;通過”。 2. secondary school is a school for children between the ages of 11 and 16 or 18. 中學是年齡在11歲到16或18歲孩子上學的學校。 secondary adj. (教育)中等的;次要的;間接的 3. present在這里作形容詞時, 意思是“出席的, 在場的”,此時它的反義詞是absent 。 present作形容詞還可表示“目前的, 現(xiàn)在的”。 absent是形容詞, 意為“缺席的”。要表示“做某事缺席;不在場”, 其后常接介詞from;absent也可用作及物動詞, 意為“缺席”, 后常接反身代詞作賓語。 Step6.
